What is your hourly rate?
We don’t provide hourly rates without seeing the job. Every move is different. As professional furniture movers in Thames, we visit you to assess the volume of goods and the logistics of your move, then provide a free written quote on the spot. This ensures your quote is accurate — not over- or under-priced.
How do I work with you?
Simply phone us or complete our short enquiry form. We’ll call you to arrange a free in-person quote. Once you agree to and sign the quote, your moving date is confirmed in our schedule.
How much notice do you need?
We may be able to help at short notice, so it’s always worth calling. However, we recommend contacting us as early as possible to secure your preferred moving date, particularly if you’re selling or buying a home.
Do you move one-off furniture items?
No. We specialise in full house and business furniture moves, not single-item transport. This allows us to provide a consistent, professional service for homeowners and businesses.
Do you transport mowers or fuel?
No. For safety reasons, we do not transport mowers or fuel.
Can you move my home or business long distance?
Yes. As experienced furniture movers based in Thames, we relocate household and business contents throughout the North and South Island, including NZ islands serviced by ferries such as Waiheke Island.
Do you provide insurance?
We hold liability insurance, which will be discussed during your in-person quote. We also recommend speaking with your contents insurance provider prior to moving to ensure your belongings are appropriately covered.
Do you hold a Transport Service Licence (TSL)?
Yes. Co-owner and driver Shannon Buckley holds a valid Transport Service Licence (TSL) for all Thames Movers vehicles, along with the required certificate of knowledge of law and practice.
Why is a Transport Service Licence important?
Operating a commercial furniture moving service without a valid TSL is illegal in New Zealand and may cause insurance issues for customers. Using licensed furniture movers in Thames helps protect you from compliance risks and potential insurance claim problems.
Do you provide storage?
We don’t provide storage directly, but we can recommend trusted local storage providers and transport your furniture to and from storage as part of your move.

No. Please have your household or business contents packed, boxed and labelled before we arrive. This allows us to deliver items directly to the correct rooms at your new property.
